Tiger Thai
About This Spot
Stepping into Tiger Thai feels like discovering a quiet treasure tucked along Woodward Avenue — a modest, inviting spot where the focus gently centers on the food and the familiar rhythm of a neighborhood favorite. The dining area is intimate and comfortably unpretentious, perfect for those moments when you want a pause from the bustling world outside. While the space hums with a relaxed, friendly energy, it’s clear many locals favor takeout, making the restaurant a practical, go-to refuge for a genuine Thai meal on the move or a casual sit-down among friends or family.
Here, the pace is unhurried but efficient, reflecting the warm attentiveness of the staff who seem to understand exactly what each guest needs — whether that’s a quick recommendation on spice levels or a welcome smile that feels like a small kindness in an often-rushed day. The aromas hint at traditional flavors, inviting exploration without overwhelming, giving you the chance to savor dishes where bold ingredients and delicate balance meet. It’s easy to picture the kitchen carefully assembling vibrant bowls of noodles and fragrant rice dishes, bringing Thai street food vibrancy into this unassuming Berkley corner.
Among the flavors that resonate here, there’s a steady favorite nature to selections like the rich, colorful curry fish or the satisfyingly vibrant drunken noodles—a dish that many find comforting in its familiar yet spirited kick. Whether you’re after something vividly spicy or something a little milder, the menu promises consistency that’s been shaped by genuine care, making it the kind of place where returning diners feel their preferences understood and quietly honored.
The modest scale of the space fosters a sense of closeness, a community spot where conversations naturally fold into the background hum of kitchen activity and warm service. It’s not flashy or trendy, but it carries a quiet confidence — the feel of a place where the food’s freshness and authenticity speak louder than any flash. For those who have found their way here from other Thai kitchens around metro Detroit, Tiger Thai offers a grounded yet heartfelt experience, a small local enclave where each meal is a moment of comfort and discovery.

Tiger Thai is excellent! The food is hot and fresh, everything tastes amazing. If you eat a lot of Thai in the general area, you’ll notice it isn’t always easy to find a good Thai place but Tiger Thai will be your new go to! On top of amazing food, the service is friendly and thoughtful. Dining in is smallish as I think most folks prefer to carry out for Thai but it’s plenty of room for a few diners stopping in for a lunch or dinner. I ordered the pad Thai with a side of peanut sauce and my friend had gang karee.

This is the best Thai food in all of the metro Detroit area. Trust me, I’ve eaten at 70% of the spots you’d compare this to.If you don’t believe me, go try it. I’ll buy your next meal if I’m wrong. Service is lighting fast, prices are more than fair for the quality and amount of food you get. Just come eat here, you won’t be disappointed. My favorite is the Drunken Fried rice with chicken! Ps. Check the hours before you come!

Ordered gang gai, Bell pepper, mushroom and bamboo in a coconut red curry sauce and it was delicious, and a healthy serving size as well. I would consider it to be a cop top rated Thai restaurant in this area compared to the other restaurants. They have a very clean, quaint dining area that can seat right around 12 people. Their carryout is extremely fast. I've never waited longer than 15 minutes for a carryout. If you're considering it I say give it a try and you will be happy you did.

First time visiting. Very cute little spot. I dined in for dinner, there was one other person dining in when I was there. Seems like they mostly do carryout. Very friendly service. Food came out fresh, hot and delicious. I like spicy and they recommend Medium, it had a good spice level.

Beautiful new Thai restaurant in Berkley. The parking is that of a typical strip mall and is free. The atmosphere is very nice. There are seats but I’ve never witnessed anyone actually dining in. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The food is very good. I’d suggest getting your typical Thai meal, you’ll instantly see the difference in quality between where you’ve been going and here. There’s no corner cutting here, everything is freshly made.
